Each book has two different weights. One is the physical weight, the other is the subjective weight that is related to its content or importance. How often, when leaving a place, do we stand before the difficult decision of which and how many books we want to or can take with us.
I have selected about 40 books that have accompanied me over the last 25 years. Each of these book titles is engraved on a plate of glass. On the other side of the glass plate, the weight of this book is engraved.
These glass plates are mounted on the wall with the title side facing the wall, so that the book titles appear in mirror image. The glass plates have three different sizes—the larger the glass, the thinner it is.
